Day 15 - Monday 19 April - Positano (Amalfi Coast)

Headed for the tourist information centre to find out how to get around - very helpful - local bus to Positano, SITA bus to Amalfi and Sorrento for the connection to Pompeii - looks like we can leave the car parked all week (just as well as Graham has refused to drive until it is to drive out of here!)
Decided on a ‘reconnoitre’ to Positano to check out how to get to Capri tomorrow - lovely trip in the local bus and a walk down to the beach/ferry wharf - the shops are right on the road and how the buses get around without hitting anything or anybody, we didn’t work out the whole time we were there!

We got dropped off about halfway down the hill and had to walk to the beach/ferry
 The main church in Positano
A very small but pretty beach - nothing like the sand at home - wouldn't want to lay on it!
There was room for a short beach walk
You buy the ferry tickets from these booths
Lunch in a lovely restaurant on the beach - fish and more fish! Pretty expensive but very good. The whole town is built down the side of a hill and there are shops the whole length - very lovely little town….

The harbour is a working harbour - the small fishing boats get on with their work around the tourists
We had lunch in a restaurant with this view down the beach
A typical cobbled street - no cars allowed down here
The cafe stop at Vettica - we would stop here for a drink before walking up the hill - Capri in the distance...
directly above the point of the umbrella.

Went grocery shopping in the afternoon - met Angelo at the Tutti e Tutti shop - a local character…. Walked back up the Via Duomo (Church St) to the Church of Saint Luca near our house - had omelettes for dinner - television pretty awful, so the books came into their own!
